GETTING home yesterday after work, I ran into Don Charles the Nigerian-born boxing coach who has helped mould Dereck Chisora from a raw teenage novice into the world class pugilist he is today.
HEAVYWEIGHT contender and fellow Brit Dereck Chisora thinks former IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (26-2, 18 KO’s) needs to shut up and stop complaining about his loss to Lamont Peterson (30-1-1, 15 KO’s) in the media. Khan, 25, was beaten by Peterson by a 12 round split decision on December 10th by the scores of 115-110 for Khan, 113-112 and 113-112 for Peterson.
THE Boxing world was united in support of aggrieved former British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Derek Chisora whom many feel was robbed of victory in Saturday’s bout against Robert Helenius of Finland.
Chisora became the latest Briton to suffer rough justice on the continent when he was on the wrong end of a split decision from the judges who favoured Helenius in front of his home crowd.
